NEUQUEN:
it is the capital of the province of the same name with 210,000
inhabitants, what transforms it into the biggest city in the Argentinean
Patagonia.
Located
in the fork of the rivers Limay and Neuquén, which form
the Negro river, is the most important center of services in the
high valley of Río Negro and Neuquén that extends
along 120 kilometers. In this watering oasis dedicated to the
fruti-culture they are seated a dozen of cities; the most important
in the Río Negro province are General Roca (78.000 inhabitants)
and Cipolletti (74.000 inhabitants).
To
the quick growth of the city they have contributed, besides the
fact of to be the administrative political center of the county
and to be in the fruit Great Valley, the development of the energy
activities in the oriental sector of the province: construction
of big hydroelectric dikes (Chocón-Cerros Colorado, Pichi
Picún Leufú, Piedra del Aguila, Alicurá)
and the great peak of the oil and gas exploitation.
Neuquen
is the richest Argentinean province in hydrocarbons and its capital
is headquarters of numerous companies linked with the activity.
It has a wide range of lodgings, commercial centers, restaurants,
sweet shops, discos, two casinos: one in suburbs of the international
airport and another crossing the bridge on the river Neuquén,
in the city of Cipolletti.
In
the riversides of the rivers Neuquén and Limay the sport
clubs and the recreation centers are plentiful. It possesses several
film rooms, theaters, museums and rooms of exhibitions that are
part of a permanent cultural activity and of vanguard at national
level. It is a city that attracts for the dynamism, the multiple
activities that it concentrates and the services that it offers.
